Smartphone cameras are accepted as a major contributor to the demise of consumer DSLR sales. Now Apple may begin to infringe into the higher tiers of "enthusiast" or even professional camera work with their introduction of Apple ProRAW support for iPhone 12 PRO.

I read on another forum that it is a linear dng file type, so not technically raw, but probably doesn't make much much practical difference. I know dng is raw or can be but linear dng is already demosaiced when it gets to Lightroom or any raw converter, so not raw in that sense.
