Recent scouting the water hole

I was out scouting the local wildlife areas. Goal to get a feel for the activity and see if the migration has started . This little spot is where the water fowl seem to gather and fatten up before moving north. Some will stay and nest here. Gear used , Nikon D500, older AI 400 2.8, this is a manual lens no bells and whistles. Old school. all with the exception of the geese were shot @2.8 1/1000 auto ISO, the Geese used f8 trying to get all in the focus which failed.

Another week and this spot should be full of waterfowl.
