.............since there was no bird action at several locations I visited by the water's edge at a local slough, I decided to get an image. These guys don't just let you walk up to them, they're extremely skittish, they fall off a log so quick to get away from any movement they perceive as too close, just walking up to one is out of the question. This one was just 10 feet from the bank, so I had to slowly belly crawl about 30 yards through leaves and over small logs to get a clear enough view through low ground foliage with just 420mm. I'm sure it would've been comical to witness.
