This is a Red-Bellied Woodpecker. Red-headed woodpecker looks very different. It always confuses me because the red on the belly of this one is not always visible, and when it is, it's much smaller than the red on the back of the head. In my opinion the official name of this bird is an oxymoron.

I swear I looed it up. I was so sure in my mind that it was a red-headed woodpecker, that's what I read when I was on the page ID'ing Red-Bellied. I looked at the wings and then my mind didn't register that it said Bellied and not Headed!!!!
