Red Squirrel

Here's another red squirrel. They like to shelter in dead, hollow tree trunks. And then on a cold day they seem to like curling their tails over and laying them flat along their backs.

Thanks, Ira. No unfrozen open water near me at present so water birds are out. I have to contend with whatever hawks or little birds I can get close to, or any non-flying wildlife wandering the earth around here.

We don't see many red squirrels in my part of the UK due to the prominance of the grey variety :(

Thank you, Sir. It's the same here. The grey variety is the most common here with the red one in a minority.

You and me both, my friend. I guess I don't dislike the red squirrel half as much as the larger grey one. Firstly the red one is much less common in my neck of the woods, and secondly they don't seem to be nearly as obnoxious and destructive as the grey one.

The red ones by me, in Wisconsin, are a bit skittish because the greys are bullies.
