I came across this RT and thought he was having a meal, interesting to see the turtle there beside him. I watched him for several minutes from a distance and captured a few frames then moved on. When I processed the images and when I cropped in to check for something like a snake or mouse I was surprised to see that the quarry of choice was "rocks". Has anyone seen this before?
Do hawks play?

These are not spectacular images, heavily cropped and processed in order to show the behavior and confirm he was after rocks.
Edit: to reposition the last sentence. (It was below the images).
