Very nicely done. I think any change (change not improvement) would be a subjective opinion - in my view of course.
I dont know these birds - so I couldn't tell if the bright neck is actually that bright. I might add a fraction more canvas to the top.
But really - thats all nit picking and unnecessary. The DOF works beautifully on this image. The composition is great.
Beautiful shot and beautiful bird.

I could use some more of that young lady! Time out is over. :D

That's just how the feathers look when the light hits them just right in the early morning in the golden hour light. Otherwise, they just appear to be that reddish brown. I have lots of pics with the feathers looking a goldish color.

Super image and yes, in the right hands an R7 can perform nicely. I agree with Winston that either adding some canvas or perhaps experimenting with a vertical crop could be interesting. Ironically, my best WL shot of the year came out the R7 +100-500 of a tri-colored heron in FL.

Thank you. I'm not at home right now to see if there was any more room to work with at the top (I don't remember if I cropped at the top) but I agree, a little more would look better, and a vertical crop would work well also.
