Remote firing issues with SB-800 master and slave

I’m using a Camtraptions receiver/trigger with 2 Nikon sb800’s - one set to master & one to slave. With the master on camera it triggers the slave. If I put the master on the receiver and the trigger on camera, the master fires but not the slave (same settings).
Should it work ok or am I missing something?
Camera is a Z9.
Just remembered I had on manual, 1/200 second (Camtraption doesn’t do high speed remote flash), guns on I-ttl.
Should I have used Program ?

It's probably an issue with the triggers as opposed to the Z9. I seem to recall the triggers must be i-ttl and you need one receiver for each flash. I'm remembering I tried something similar a decade ago with 4 sb800's to light a steam train at night. I ended up getting one receiver for each of the lights. Try setting the flashes to either auto or full manual.
