Replacement Foot for Z 70-200 S ?

I have ordered the RRS replacement foot for my recently purchased 70-200 S in Z mount. It just shipped, so I have not received it yet. I have used RRS plates, collars and feet on my camera bodies and lenses, as well as one of their tripods and several ball heads. I think their gear is generally well made, if pricey.

Thanks Bill W. After it arrives, please let me know how you like it. Thanks.
Sorry for the slow response. I got my RRS replacement foot (LCF-21) for the Z-mount 70-200 f2.8 S lens late last week. It is nicely machined and finished. It fits nicely on the lens and seems more secure to me than the Nikon version. As usual, it is Arca-Swiss compatible. It’s a different model than the one for the F-mount 70-200 f2.8 E FL.

I expect that I will use it with the lens (i) on a tripod with an RRS ball head and (ii) as a point to attach a Black Rapid strap when carrying the lens while walking about. Given the temperatures in Minnesota lately, it may be a while before I take it outside to try. But it looks to me like it will work well for both uses.

As is usual with RRS gear, it is well made but fairly expensive. I have on a few occasions gotten a Kirk or Markins bracket for certain things (e.g., for my FTZ adapter). I think their products are also generally well made.

Hi Bill, thank you so much for following up. I just found out (like 10 minutes ago) that B&H Photo here in NYC will be stocking the RRS foot and I plan to order it to use with my RRS BH-55 ball head. BTW, I lived in south western Minnesota for a year where I experienced -30 degree temperatures for the first time in my life. After that I’ll ever complain about our NYC winters LOL.

I purchased the Hejnar foot. It is machined like the one for the 500PF. It is more securely attached to the collar and not intended to be removed like the RRS or Kirk foot.

Both the Kirk or RRS are good options. The Kirk is a bit cheaper (about $30) and a bit longer than the RRS which may help a little achieving balance if you use a TC. Both have QD sockets. I tend to use Kirk but it’s a bit like the Chevy & Ford argument.
