This shot was about 30 minutes after the sun peeked over the eastern horizon. One thing I like about winter is the extended "golden hour" due to the low angle of the sun. It was a bright winter day but the mist rising from the pond combined with the sun gave everything a warm glow. The ring necks were awake but not moving around just drifting around on the pond which resulted in very few ripples around them. Not what one would call a "perfect" photo but something about the mood makes me smile.
