At least I had a good excuse for missing "Drinks with Steve #2" yesterday.
The heat shimmer (thermo differential distortion) was horrible. Yes, even over a mostly frozen lake, heat distortion is a problem. The air was between 15 degrees (when we started) and 24 degrees when we were finished. The water temperatures were, well, right about 32 and the sunshine reflecting off the ice made for some interesting distortions. These are 3 that were more or less salvageable.
