I was out photographing butterflies on a mesquite tree and heard a loud buzz. Looked over and this is what I found. Robber fly with a not so fortunate bee... I'm just getting back into macro photography so I'm pretty happy with this one.

Excellent sharpness . The robber fly certainly ranks as one of the most hideous predators in the insect world.
Thanks. I could tell he had something but couldn't actually see what because I was standing away from him (500 pf lens). Wasn't until I got it back to the computer I saw the bee. These flies are very scary looking and loud. That crazy buzz is the only reason I knew he was there.
