San Martin Bridge on the Tagus River, built in the 13th century. And you thought the Brooklyn Bridge was old.

Great photo Ira. The bridge is quite something - and i find it very interesting. It is fascinating to see the old structures - and to see what they were capable of doing back then.
Do you know the legend around the bridge? Quite funny and clever (if it is true)

Thanks Elsa, I didn't know of the legend of the bridge, but now I do. Great story if it is true.

Very nice image, Ira! Amazing the architecture back then, definitely built to last. The story may not be a true story ... but it's true that it is a story. ;)
Borrowed that from Tommy Lee Jones, I've always liked that line.

Thanks Kirk, I thought I saw him on the bridge.
