This spring I had planned to venture to a few local places where this bird has been spotted the year before. I was pleasantly surprised that this guy decided to stick around for breeding season right behind my home. I took this on my lunch break. One of the perks of working from home

Thanks! Yes, they like to hang out high in the canopy but occasionally they'll come down.

Very nice. Except in migration they're usually way up in the forest canopy where it's somewhere between difficult and impossible to photograph them.

Thanks! And yes, I hear you about migration! Even this guy who's been here about two weeks (resident breeding bird) rarely comes down below mid-canopy.
