I currently am working with an Apple Studio 5k monitor and an older 4k Dell u;trassharp 4k monitor. Both are 27 inch monitors.

My wife needs a monitor for her PC laptop and the 27 inch Dell would be perfect for She Who Must Be Obeyed because she only uses a PC for basic tasks such as email and surfing the internet.

I now have permission to give her my 4k Dell UltraSharp and replace it with a second monitor to go with my Apple Studio monitor.

It would also be interesting to find something that does an effective job with HDR imaging.

I would strongly prefer another 5k 27 inch monitor. I really like the higher resolution for detail work.

Choices I am considering are:

1. Asus ProArt 27 inch 5k

2. A second Apple Studio

3. A BenQ I think they have a 5k coming up shortly.

Let me know your thoughts.

Don’t know the prices…but the Studio Display is pretty fabulous and a matched pair would look better on the desk, so unless cost is an issue that’s the way I would go.
I know exactly what I want as a second monitor. It is a 27 inch monitor that can render HDR images the same as the new MacBook Pro screens can do it.

From what I read the ASUS Pro Art 5k display is an attempt to recreate the Apple Studio monitor at a lesser price. I think however having an Apple Studio 5k next to the Asus Pro would only highlight the differences.

Without a good HDR monitor I would rather have a second Apple studio I really like that monitor. However ever since Lightroom added HDR to its arsenal of tools I have wanted to play with those images. So a really nice HDR monitor that does not cost as much as a Plena would be interesting.

Of course if someone were to get me the 6k Apple Pro screen I would be very happy indeed.
