The 3 sisters on the back of this buffalo are the mainstay attacking force of the 18 (+ 2 pride males) members of the legendary Selinda pride who join forces in taking down this fit & healthy buffalo bull, the battle raged on for over an hour, what a morning!
This big bull managed to get up 3 times over the course of the battle that grew into a series of tag team rounds whereby different pride members would each takes turns
in stepping back, resting for a spell and then rejoining the melee.

The length it took this experienced pride before this old boy drew his final breath, is testament to the sheer strength and dogged determination of this dagga boy, just extraordinary!
This was an amazing morning and I stayed right with them until well into the night, grabbing interesting image sequences, especially as the 2 pride males joined the feasting
party which saw tensions rise and fall.
