Setting a border in Canon Professional Print & Layout

Hi, just got the Canon Pro 200 printer and downloaded their Pro Print & Layout application, every Youtube video I have watched thus far the print border is set in whatever app is used to PP the image then sent to the Canon app with border to print, why not just print from that first app be it Adobe P/S or L/R or any other app?
What am I missing?
