As my realtor pals would no doubt describe it, a classic, fixer-upper. In Wetaskiwin County, Alberta. Shot with the 180-400 at 400 on the D6 (my Z14-24 was at home along with the Z6 of course after weeks of always bringing it along) but just wanted to grab a shot as I'd like to use the location for a portrait shot especially as that's likely canola planted around the building (and canola in bloom is gorgeous).... And the 'new' farm house is just across the road when I need to get permission :)

Thanks for sharing Steven! Hopefully it's still standing when you get back to it. Makes me think it'd be a cool location for a night sky shot too (put some lights inside, maybe do some light painting).
To be honest I had to laugh out loud reading your post. You almost made it sound like... Oh, all I had with me was the old D6, guess it'll have to do, oh well. Hehe. I totally mean no harm saying that, just the way I interpreted it.

No harm done. I don't have a wide f mount lens so my D6 was useless for that job, not that I had another lens with me anyway :)

Nice shot. Canola in bloom at night with low level led lighting would be super cool!

Thanks. And yes, re lighting idea. Richie, above, also suggested what I was thinking of too -- some light painting with light. Lots of possibilities. Depends of course on how much the farmer wants me traipsing through his canola :)

Hi Steven. Looks like something you will be able to do a lot with if you get permission. I much prefer the color version.

Great photo, Stephen. There are so many opportunities with a subject like this one, but as you say, talk with the property owner first before entering their land.
