This was part of a landing sequence I captured. I believe I have 10 shots from his coming it, behind the post and to the right, starting about 30 feet from the post, to his circling in from behind, and landing.
His eyes were fixed intently on the perch the whole time.
Thanks to the photo gods, my D500 tracked the owl the whole time, and each photo in the burst was locked onto him.

Thanks! I was trying out the " new to me" Nikkor 600 F/4 and wanted to see what it could do on my D500. Was pretty happy with that day of shooting.
