For the past yers I've come away fairly empty handed trying o photograph Short Eared Owls. This year two things changed that. Most importantly the owls showed up, for the past two years it has been slim pickings. The second thing is the Nikon 800mm lens that performs well with a 1.4TC and also focuses with the Z9 in dim light. So it has been by my standards a great year for Short Eared Owls. Part 2:
