I have a dozen or so icons for shortcut direct to an application on my Windows based computer. (recycle bin, PS 2025, Pictures, so on) They have disappeared and I see nothing on the screen {well, photo auto populates but nothing else shows, totally clean screen). I do have a quick few icons on my toolbar, but limited.

So I go to renew and I get a notice I already have this, do I want another? I agree to another, but still nothing shows on my screen. I go back and am told I have 2 do I want another -- What the heck?? Computer says I have them on my screen, none are showing. I took a dead stab clicking along the borders and no. Any help? I need it, I'm lost and near dead here. Thanks

Perhaps you’ve inadvertently set your desktop to cover two screens? This can happen if you’ve attain external monitor.

Regardless, open file explorer window and select Desktop. The window should show every file and folder on your desktop. Hopefully, everything that should be there is there.

To check the display options, open Settings, System, Display and scroll down to Multiple displays. There should be a Detect other display option. See what happens when you click Detect.

Thank you. When I get to the settings, I see no settings or desktop in that long line of prompts. i follow along well till the settings.

Hey Thanks! This is not my concern, all within this is super.

So you checked that you don't have a 2nd display active, you checked for any resolution mismatch, when you use file explorer to see what is in desktop, what do you see there? I was originally thinking the shortcuts were there but outside of your visible screen because of a resolution mismatch. That apparently is not the case.

I am not sure if you resolved your problem or not but here is a suggestion.

Right click on the clean desktop, you should get a menu popup, the first option is view, the last option in the view menu is show desktop icons. There should be a check box next to show desktop icon, if not select it to check it.
