Sigma is by all accounts a great lens, but two limitations on Sony: 15fps max and no TCs. The frame rate may not be as critical, but no TCs... understandably, Sony is protecting their business.
There are reports that SEL14TC will mount on Sigma without issues but the focusing of the resulting 700mm F8 does not work properly.
Has anybody thought of the SEL14TC with "dumbed down" electronics, i.e. straight pass-through connections? Would it then focus with Sigma? I think so. Would love to hear your opinions.
I have a background in electrical engineering, so if anyone has a non-functional SEL14TC I could try to modify it.
