Hi BCG forum contributors,

I have a question about loading the Sigma software on my Windows 10 computer. When I try to download the
software I get a message that the software has spyware and other viruses.

Has anyone gone ahead and downloaded the software and has it caused a problem?

Thanks for any help.

Levi

Are you downloading it from the Sigma site.

When I used it I never saw what you are describing.

Which app is creating the message.

Does your anti virus software/firewall need tweaking.

I would make certain that the software was downloaded from the Sigma sight. I tend to navigate the providers site to find the software as opposed to just searching for the software. Sometimes the search can lead you to an unauthorize and potentially virus infected version of the software.

If you are certain about the origin of the software pay attention to the error message that your virus software is giving you. I have found that for a few very specialized applications that I use that my virus software tells me there is a "small installation sample" which means they have not seen the application enough to know when the application has been infected.

You might also visit your virus software manufacture's site and see if you can submit file or link, or possibly search their database for information about the Sigma app. It might also be possible to submit some type of support ticket pertaining to the software in question.

Thanks for the replies.

I am going to Sigmaphoto.com-Service & Support-Downloads-Sigma Optimization Pro. I then hit downloads and select SOP_1.6.0_setup.exe.
After I hit accept and download, the download starts. In a few seconds my McAfee service warms me that there may be Spyware and other virus's
with this download.

I'm concerned that there may be a problem. That is why I asked if anyone else has seen this.

Thanks again

You need to feed this back to Sigma.

I did download the Sigma Optimization Pro app. I was able to open the app and check my lens. Everything worked
great.

I then did a virus scan of my PC. No virus's were found.

So everything looks good.

Thanks for all the advice.
