Skeletons at dawn

The Hunting Island SP beach in South Carolina is a beautiful and haunting place at dawn, where dead live oaks that have eroded from the headlands litter the shoreline. Few people visit this amazing spot in winter, so I had it all to myself during the golden hour. The patterns on the sand just seemed to lead my eye to this downed tree.

Nicely composed. That looks like a fairly recent casualty. Mist have been washed away in the hurricane this past summer.
