A large flock of turkeys came cruising thru our backyard to graze on some fallen birdseed at our feeder. Not unusual, but what was unusual was the two of them were distinctly higher colored, and had pink legs. I had never seen such a thing so I researched it and it turns out they are what's called "smoke phase" turkeys. Not a result of mating with white domestic turkeys but an occasional result of two wild turkey parents. Who knew?! Here's one.
