Fantastic!! Beautiful bird and beautiful image!
Again I like the bokeh .. ;-)
who could have thought that boken of f6.3 is so pleasing?
How are you happy with 600PF? It must be superb for the bird photography. But how are you satisfied with the image quality? and AF? in comparison to 180-600

Thank you, Elena!

I am VERY impressed with the 600mm PF! Focusing speed is fine and the resolution of fine feather details is impressive. It rained most of the trip (we were in deep forests most of the time), so I was constantly balancing shutter speed versus high ISOs. UGH! When I got home, I bought DxO's Pure Raw for noise reduction. After running images through Pure Raw and a little exposure tweaks in ACR, I found there was little else to do but post the images!

I would never consider a super zoom like the 180-600. Too big and heavy for me, and most of the focal range would go unused most of the time. I took my 100-400 and only used it a few times. The 600mm PF stayed glued to my Z8! When I needed more reach, I switched to DX mode. That worked for me and the image quality was excellent.

I also own the 600pf and have also shot with the 600 TC... Besides smoother bokeh of the 600TC & 1-1/3rd stop light gathering advantage, the IQ is very very close. I'd say sharpness is a draw. The advantage with the 600Pf is is super light and very small .
You can handhold this lens all day and walk away with pro level images. So yeah it's a phenomenal, lightweight tele prime!

Exactly. That is why I like DXO PureRAW. I use it already from the first version. And now I look at processed photos and think: what shall I do more with the image? 😜

Thank you! I am just thinling about it as well... because of weight... and I love Bee-eaters so much ..! :D
