I compiled images of raptors that I made during two safaris in South Africa in 2016 and 2019. Each safari was for five days, and it's only when I started making a compilation that I realized the rich variety of animals and birds that I managed to photograph during those ten days.

Lizard Buzzard. This one dived to the ground and snatched up a lizard while we watched. That probably explains the name.

Beautiful set Rassie! Some great poses. Well done👍👍👍👍

Lovely set of images in both parts 1 and 2 Koos,
Our older gear was not that bad and your images bear testament to this.

Thanks, Gavin. I never sprung for a professional body in the past, mainly because I was not into action photography. Those old prosumer DSLR cameras served me well as long as a decent lens was used. I developed an appetite for action and BIF at around the time that the mirrorless cameras with subject tracking made an appearance. That's when I abandoned DSLRs and bought the Z8.
