As most of you know, I have been very vocal about firmware induced issues with my A1. There’s not much I haven’t tried to resolve the issue, including calling Sony, which was a little to no help. Today, I decided to completely wipe the camera and reset back to default settings. After doing this, I powered the camera off four times in a row by removing the battery while powered up. I did not save my settings to a card and manually entered them from screenshots I took on my cell phone with my settings. This was about a three hour process to go through it all. I tested the camera for nearly 2 hours in various situations. The reason I did not save my settings to a card and reload is, I did not want to take any chance of any type of corruption interfering in this test. From testing in known situations that caused problems with this Camera prior to doing this, the issues seem to be completely resolved. I’m going to do some more testing tomorrow, but I am nearly certain this is taken care of the issues. I will update the thread over the next couple days.
