Wasn't planning to shoot any macro today but saw this spider web backlit by the morning sun and noticed the spider right in the center of the web with what looks like its recent catches. I don't know much about spiders so no idea what kind it is but I liked the way the light caught the web and was able to move around a bit to put a flower behind it for a splash of color. Wasn't carrying an actual macro lens so this was shot with the 300mm PF plus a teleconverter.

Nice shot. I believe this is one of the family of trash line orb weavers. Interesting spiders.
Thanks, for the info. I just Googled Trash Line Orb Weavers and yeah, that's pretty interesting and it makes sense. I was wondering what all that stuff hanging down was :)
