It's an orbweaver spider of some type. Nothing to worry about. Good for your plant as it eats bugs.

Dangerous if you are a fly caught in its web, otherwise a great spider to have around to keep the insect populations in line. Nice shot!

It is an orb weaver. If I were pressed to make a guess I would say a spotted orb weaver. All spiders have venom but these are not deadly and they are not aggressive. Just bit hairy spiders that look a whole lot more ugly than they are. Fact is they are quite beautiful and their webs are works of art.
