Lichens are fascinating things, a combination of algae and fungus that can survive in the harshest of environments. This Star Rosette Lichen was living on a maple branch. the largest of the dark brown apothecia (where the spores are formed) was about 1/32 inch in diameter. taken with an Olympus M10 ii, 7Artesians 60mm macro lens, 1/60 sec, f/11, ISO 1000.
