I tried making an image of the Milky Way around Perseus and Andromeda with my D850 (14mm, f/2.8, 3 min. ISO 800, 5x). I used an older AstroTrac I found in the closet I have not used in years, attached to my tripod for tracking the stars. The brightest "star" at the bottom is Jupiter, you can also see many deep sky objects like the Andromeda Galaxy etc. I hope you might find it interesting. I added some constellations in Photoshop for orientation.

Nicely done. Beautiful. I have yet to take the star tracker I bought out of the box! Winter project :)
Thank you Steven - these are my first with my StarTrac too. It was in the closet for years, now that I am in retirement - finally time for fun! I wish you all the best for your first light too!

Cool!

Hi! Watch out - Astro can really suck you in. Just for fun one night I pointed my 90mm macro lens at the Southern Cross (Crux) and was surprised by a 4 sec exposure. So I quickly took another 9 frames then raised the camera slightly and took another 10 frames. I got over-excited and purchased "Starry Landscape Stacker" to stack them and then Star Xterminator and Gradient Xterminator from RC Astro, so that I could process the stars and sky separately. I then combined the 10 lower and upper frames and then made those two images into a 2 shot Vertorama. Next I spent an age learning how to stretch an astro image and I was completely amazed when nebulae and particularly dark lanes appeared. I have attempted to name what is in the image. If anyone could correct me or add more information I would be grateful. Your images reminded me of this little adventure.
