While visiting our daughter in Colorado, she and I went out to capture sunrise hitting Longs Peak as seen from Longmont. While the clouds and sun were not always cooperating to light the mountain, we did get some interesting shots of the clouds. These are the first lenticular clouds I have ever observed and photographed and the sunrise had a distinct pink and orange tone. Two shots are of the same formation taken about one minute apart with slightly different views.
All shot with a Nikon D850 and the Nikkor 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Processed in LrC.
Still working on identifying the "best" of the sunrise shots and properly presenting the interesting colors.

Nice! beautiful colors! I mean also the blue! The old good Nikkor makes nice lanscape captures! Was the whether windy next day?
The next day weather was much the same weather but with fewer clouds and less color. Still beautiful!

Very nice images. The sunrise is spectacular! It's good to see somebody else uses the 28-300- it's a little slow, but I really enjoy mine as a general use lens.
I really like the 28-300. It is solid on my D750 and Z6 and good out to about 200mm on my D850. It gets softer around the edges as I get closer to 300 but the wide range it offers is better than switching lenses or having to always carry two rigs.
