It’s a crazy place! Wouldn’t swim in it, that’s for sure. Lots of birds though. Yes, burrowing owls among them. 🤓

Yes, very likely. I see them along the southern end of the Sea, in the farmlands. They nest in the berms bordering the irrigation canals. Burrows often marked with wooden stakes/flags. There is a man made burrow right at the entrance to the Sony Bono NWR Preserve. Here is a screenshot of that location:

I’ve also seen them right on that Sinclair Rd. There are irrigation canals alongside the road and I see owls on the berm between road and canals.
