This morning I was fortunate to find a female and male Superb Lyrebird in the Yarra Ranges east of Melbourne. The Superb Lyrebird is Australia’s pre-eminent song bird and an incredible mimic. I have heard it replicate a Kookaburra, Currawong, Galah and chainsaw in the same medley. The following are high-iso images from this morning as the Lyrebird prefers foraging in leaf litter in the dense under-storey of wet rainforest. I am sure other members have taken far better images and would encourage them to post them in this thread - Andy
