Just returned from Venice and was fortunate enough to be there during the supermoon. It had been raining for several days prior to this evening. The skies were cloudy off and on though it parted long enough to capture some images before disappearing behind the clouds. This was shot with the 70-180 f/2.8 (was trying out the lens) without a release braced on the Ponte dell'Accademia. Bracketed of course for exposure and for some reason the exif isn't reading correctly (Tv about 2.5 sec for the buildings and 1/60th for the moon)...

Nice. It has been years since I was in Venice and I would love to get back again some day. The morning light there was quite beautiful.

Thank you. I would have preferred capturing the moon adjacent to the Basilica of St. Mary or another location, though the forecast was for clouds most of the evening so I gave up and instead focused on capturing some night shots around the city. It was serendipity that the skies cleared for a few minutes while the moon was still rising and I managed to capture a few shots.

Very nice! I have been there a couple of times during business trips to Europe and I found it to be a wonderful city full of wonderful people and the world's best food!

Interesting. I absolutely loved the city but found good food to be hard to find there in comparison with many of the Tuscan cities we visited.

Indeed, it is harder to find high quality food in Venice compared to the neighboring regions as many (most) of the restaurants are rather touristy. Nonetheless, if one looks hard enough and is willing to explore beyond the usual confines, there are some pretty good restaurants.
