Thank you, Rose. Have to do laundry after these encounters!I have to say I am not a big snake fan. But this is a wonderful photo! I love how you caught the tongue out.
We had a mohave rattlesnake in our backyard a couple of months ago (and before we had a snake barrier installed) and I took some photos but not nearly as good as yours. Great job!
Thanks, Steve. So...for a few minutes after the encounter one tends to look down a lot. But soon ... looking up for birds. Not 20-min after this encounter, another!Yup, I bet it was a surprise! Good capture! We ran into one this summer in the badlands, always make the heart beat a bit faster when you hear that rattle.
Nice capture!
Nice capture!
Thanks. My "trick" is to have my bird watching buddy with me. He then moves slowly back and forth in front of the snake. The snake tracks his movements, leaving me to shoot in peace. I can never talk him into moving closer so I can film the strike. I guess he is not that good of a buddy!Wow...
We have Copperheads & Water Moccasins in our area and I've photographed the latter many times, but I'm more of a 500mm + (even on the D500) kinda guy and always from a position that I can move quickly. LOL!
Well done!
Thank you, jer!M R, you are a gutsy guy! And you took a great shot.
Nice shot. Menacing look in his eye.
