The Northern Rough-winged Swallow chicks were all perched on the branches of a dead tree overhanging the water. The adults were zooming to and fro over the water catching flying insects, then coming in to feed the chicks. The feeding happened so fast I couldn't follow the adults in when they zoomed in to feed the babies, and I missed focus every time. I found I could focus on the chick instead, and just fire away when the adult came into the scene. The adults often don't perch and they feed the chick within a second while hovering. Many feedings also took place in mid-air when the chicks left the perch and met the adult in the air. What I wouldn't give for 30-year younger reflexes!
