Cormorants have been pretty much absent from my local pond most of the summer, but the other day I saw two of them, so they’re back. Being excellent fishermen, it’s fun to watch them come up from a dive with a fish and they can stay under water for an unbelievable time. They dive in one spot and come up 40 yards away, very easy to miss if you’re not watching carefully.

Great shots of an under appreciated bird!
Thanks very much Woody, they are quite fun to shoot and watch their actions.
Nice set of images, Louie. The eyes show well in every shot. I never seem to be able to manage that. Well done.
Thanks Dan, I agree with not always getting their eyes to pop, the light was right on this morning.
