I went out and shot some Cardinal this morning. They are molding. Talk about being beyond ugly, they remind me of a cheap 1950's horror movie. Something you would not want to show your children, grandchildren. They would have nightmares for the next week.....

I'm not sure beautiful describes them, maybe deranged. I was telling my wife they should do a remake of Alfred Hitchcocks "The birds" using these guys...

Thanks for the “molting“ info Woody. I didn’t know they lost the head feathers like this one from 2009… She just looked creepy and I’ve never seen another one since.
