Tamron 100- 400 on Z6ii?

I bought the Tamron 100-400 to use with my z6ii. I thought would not be a problem since I have the Tamron 24-70 G2 and it works fine. When I use the lens the auto focus works fine but the VR does not work. When I look at the VR settings on the imenu it is grayed out. The lens, including VR work well on my D7200 just not with the Z6ii. I checked and there are no updates for the lens or FTZ. Has anyone else had this problem or do you have any suggestions?

Thank you for the suggestion. The lens is on the list and I did check for for firmware updates with the tap-in console, the lens is up to date. The VR does work on my D7200 but not on the z6ii with the FTZ. I checked the firmware on the FTZ as Steve suggested awhile ago and its firmware is up to date as well.

I noticed with my Z6ii that VR cannot be turned on or off in the camera menu when mounted on my Nikkor 70-200mm F/4 F-mount lens. I guess the expectation is that you must turn VR on or off with the switch on the lens. When I move the switch to on or off VR displays as on or off in the Imenu, but it's greyed out.

Wow! You are right. I ran a series of tests and the VR is definitely working, and does a really nice job. The menu is still greyed out but the switch on the lens controls the VR. Thank you so much for the help, I really appreciate it.

I have two T 100-400 and hope to use with Z in the future .Its the 3rd firmware update that allows Z compatibility but the greyed out tip is very usefull. Did you leave all the settings at "0" or keep your DSLR setings in the lens for compatibility with your other camera? My settings have wild variations.
Does in body VR work ? Or do both work ?
Also the foot for a Nikon 80-200 mm will fit for about $20 on ebay ( needs a little filing of the clamp screw hole)

As far as I know IBIS works together with lens VR in those lenses with VR.

Strange it works well on your D7200. One of mine at 400 is at +8 the other - 11. to get the best on a DSLR you need the Tap in to input adjustments throu the focal length range and distance.

Rassie took the words out of my mouth! I found this with my Fuji XT-4.

Off topic but important is that if you clean the sensor yourself You must do it with the camera turned on. This locks the sensor in place and if you clean it with the camera off the sensor will wobble around during cleaning. Lots of info on the web.
