I live on the leeward side of the North Cascades in Washington state. A little late this year. When the ground warms up to around 50 degrees, the morels will follow. Last years burn sites are always a great (best) place to look. ground that was disrupted (logging operations, new construction). Fresh beauty bark, and my favorite, riparian areas under the cottonwoods.

Great capture. Fungi of all types can be so photgenic if one pays attention like you did here.

Beautiful shot. Fungi and macro equals great fun. Especially when you get results like yours.
