Last week I spent some time with this accommodating tawny owl. The tree it uses is on a slope which means you can get more or less at eye level. The down side is that the distance to the bird is a bit too much. The series below is at 600mm, 840mm, 1.200mm and 1.680mm (Z600mm TC +2x TC).

Nicely done. Quality is still very high even with those stacked TCs! Guess I should buy one for my 600 tc LOL Gorgeous owl!
Thank you! In perfect conditions (static subject, steady atmosphere) It's quite doable to get sharp images with the TCs stacked, there is some reduction especially in contrast. I do use a heavy tripod and a wireless remote. In the old days I would also have locked the mirror and waited a couple of seconds first but that's no longer needed.
