Teleconverters and Running Buddy XL Pouch

I was lucky enough to find the Nikon Z 1.4x teleconverter and purchase one. The element that inserts into the lens side the TC is much longer than the DSLR converters. I was wondering if Steve has any recommendations regarding the Z teleconverters and the Running Buddy XL Pouch that he recommends to carry them for faster access? Thanks!

The fit of the 1.4x TC is much too tight with the Running Buddy pouch. I need to remove the pouch to be able to pull the TC out and to pry it back inside again. I have resorted to using microfiber drawstring pouches and keeping the teleconverter either in my bag or in a jacket pocket (which is why I favor hunting jackets that have large front pockets meant so hold shotgun ammo).

Running Buddy makes at least 3 different sizes of pouch. The medium sized pouch that measures 5 ⅞ inches wide and 4 inches tall allows the Z 1.4X TC to very easily slide in and out, especially if you have removed the front and back covers of the TC. As Steve has pointed out in his video of using the pouch, the soft material lining the inside of the pouch allows you to safely have the TC in it without the front and rear caps on. This makes it much easier and faster when you have to remove the TC to put on the lens.

Here is portion of Steve's accessories vid on the Running Buddy - note that he has the XL (which is the next to largest size at 6.75 inches). I don't know if the XL is wider than the medium that @Ivan Rothman uses, but likely the extra length allows some additional stretch...

I picked up one (the XL), and just tested with the two Z TCs, and could fit either TC in *with* the caps on, although the 2x barely fits/closes. Either TC with the caps off is an easy fit.

I have to say, with the front element of the Z TCs sticking out, I'm a bit hesitant to use this pouch much - either TC fits with the front cap on, so I might go with that (both fit fine, but again, the 2x is little tight)

Cheers!

...Dave...
