After rains the last couple of evenings, it was too wet to work on the farm today so the wife and I headed to Caprock Canyons SE of Amarillo. We went mainly just to get away for a day but as always I took the camera. Recent rains in the Texas Panhandle have brought on the grass and plants and the place was really green.
The highlight of the day was getting some images of a Texas Horned Lizard feeding on red ants and some sort of bug that was coming out of the ground. Of course I didn't have my 100-400 at the moment but I made the 500 pf work with the Z9. Not to be outdone, a Lark Sparrow came down the path with his lunch to show off to the Horned Lizard.
