A Pied Kingfisher seen diving for the catch, and emerging successfully from the water .
Used two cameras for these as I had to change my position on the boat.
Taken on the Chobe River in Botswana.

These are phenomenal, Gavin! How close were you one that first one, to get that with a 300mm?? I can't get anywhere near that close to our American kingfishers, even with a 500mm lens!

Many thanks for looking and commenting Mike,
We were pretty close with the boat engine off and moored in an inlet off the main river.
There were a number of Kingfishers and they became accustomed to our presence.
