"The green flash and green ray are meteorological optical phenomena that sometimes occur transiently around the moment of sunset or sunrise. When the conditions are right, a distinct green spot is briefly visible above the Sun's upper limb; the green appearance usually lasts for no more than two seconds." From Wiki.
This is the sun setting, showing the green flash - just north of Robben Island in the Cape Peninsula. Being elevated high above the horizon apparently makes the possibility of seeing this green flash better - so I read. The string of birds are Sacred Ibises.

WOW!!!!

Impressive, especially when the weather phenomenon lasts only 2 seconds.

Did you ask the sun to wait until the birds were perfectly in place, or the opposite? ;)

Very interesting anyway 👏

Thanks, Philippe! Actually, I was following the birds from near the shore as they flew over the sea. It was just serendipity to catch them juxtaposed next to the sun as I switched over to the sun.
