The winter Sun, low in the sky turns the ice fields over the Mississippi River into a prospectors dream! If only. It's just the atmosphere scattering the light at blue end of the spectrum, turning the remaining colors of light into a brilliant gold. We photographers love this time of the morning and evening. One hour after sunrise, one hour before sunset.
