Are your beautiful shots handheld....?

Yes, these shots were hand held. They move pretty quickly and it would be hard to keep up with them if you were using a tripod or monopod. Once they start to hover, they stay pretty still and you can shoot them at slower shutter speeds to get motion in the wings and their bodies fairly sharp.
