The female Northern Goshawks took a dim view of our invading their territories and banding young during the project, so they were often aggressive towards us. This
particular female met us at the top of the drainage ready to do battle with us. Her arrival drew the attention of a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher who must have been nesting nearby.
The little bird persistently dive-bombed the Goshawk until she decided it wasn't worth the hassle to stay on her perch, flew to a different one and continued to harass us.
